Just wanted to quickly record that I signed up for the gym today … I want to be able to go back on this and be able to check how long I am able to stick to a consistent schedule.

I have never done it before in my life, I am hoping this can be the time.

If I stick to it for long enough I will write a post about my progress and training regime. Figured it was pointless until I prove I can get up at 5.30am consistently for a few months.

So I have been living in the Philippines for over 2 months & thought I should write up a quick summary of my time here. This summary is intended to be a little more personal then perhaps the summary I would put on my other blogs …

Lifestyle Business Design

Remote Workmate

Kaizenify

The People

I have made some awesome friends so far in my time here … some Filipinos and some foreigners from all corners of the earth. It has been an awesome experience for me & I think helped me improve my social skills to some extent, due to the exposure to so many different, diverse people, it kind of makes you realise … we are all very different so we should embrace and be proud of who we are and our background, but at the same time we all humans and at the core of it all, we are all the same.

Some of the awesome people I have met on my travels …

Simon Payne

Dave Huss

David “Burger”

Claudette Centeno

Thank you all for being part of an amazing experience

The Lifestyle

Their are lots of incredible advantages to living out here, with the obvious one being the cost of labour. If you want to focus on your work and creating value in the world I can truely say that the Philippines is for you (as long as you can avoid the party temptation, which is a post for another day) … out here you can literally have everything taken care of for you for a very low cost. I am talking have your food brought to you, have your laundry done your house cleaned and whatever else you can think of for like $100 US per month. Its an incredible advantage to living out here.

Apart from the ability to easily offload all those tedious tasks … the cost to do some adventurous things, costs very little. I went to a place called Bantayan for 3 days ate a lot and had an amazing time on a tropical island for about $250 for two people!

My Takeaways So Far

So 2 months in I basically just wanted to record how I was feeling at this stage … it was a huge decision for me 2 months ago. I gave up a lot to do this and at the time was a little scary, but looking back now … I would not have it any other way. I found my place in the world … at least for now I am incredibly happy and most importantly content with life. Feels good to wake up work hard, get shit done and enjoy every moment.

For the very few people that will read this … my takeaway is simple … just do it and don’t look back. If feels so damn good to live life the way you want not the way others expect you to or the way you think you should. Doing what you are passionate about

Simple message, which I have said before … but finally I have solid proof / experience to back up this statement

So if is Wednesday 4th of May and in a weeks time I step onto a plane to begin a project in which I feel will determine the rest of my life. Now I know I might be being a little dramatic with that … I know life is made up of many many little steps, but you have to agree that some steps are more important and maker a greater difference than others.

This decision I made to move to the Philippines feels like one of those much bigger steps. I would put it up there with watching a girlfriend of 4 yrs walk away, sitting down for your final high school exams … its these moments where decisions and actions become all the more important.

I will be interested to see how I feel about this decision I have made in a years time.

These pivot moments are scary as all fuck, but I think these moments are what make life so much more exciting. So here I go pivot time!

So I thought I would setup my personal site for some personal ramblings and thoughts that I have from time to time, as well as to track personal goals etc, such as my fitness.

You know how girls used to have a lockup diary with all their thoughts in it (generally about their love life), well this is the modern day version of that, except I am a guy, it will probably not have much about my love life in it, and it is public for anyone in the world to see and not locked up and hidden away.

This is mainly for self documentation, if anyone actually reads this I would suggest getting a life.

No not really thats harsh, it may entertain someone out there, but the real goal of this blog is just to track my thoughts and goals as I grow, so that I look back on how I have changed over time.

I do not see myself writing to this blog often, perhaps once a month … we will see. I will be stoked if I keep that up and this doesn’t just fade away into the “good intentions, but no discipline” bucket.

So here is to good intentions! Woo!
